The sun is due to set at 4:52 pm today,

it will be dark before dinner and we will eat our meal in the thick gray fall dusk that falls heavily on shoulders still stained with the last dregs of sunshine.

It is only then that I long for the land of my birth, where the dark is never dim, and the warm breath of 18 million souls lull you into a dreamless sleep.
